22 Polish and foreign companies participated in the first ConExPest exhibition and conference, organized in Łódź on 7th and 8th April 2008. A large number of visitors could get acquainted with a wide offer of products designed for companies providing disinfection and pest control services. A competition for the most interesting stand and the most interesting products was organized during the exhibition. The most interesting products were selected in the following categories:

- pest control products – the AgriSense company from Great Britain was the winner
- disinfection product – the Krka company was the winner
- insect-killing lamps – the Themar company from Warsaw was the winner
- equipment for rat extermination - the AsPlant company from Jaworzno was the winner
- sprayers/fogging machines – the Agro Trade company from Poznań was the winner
- protective equipment – the DuPont company was the winner

The Killgerm company from Great Britain was the winner in the competition for the most interesting stand.

A conference consisting of four thematic blocks was the second element of ConExPestu. The blocks covered the following subjects:

- safety in fumigation operations
- the future of the market of disinfection and pest control market
- novelties in equipment and preparations
- the role of disinfection and pest control in ensuring food safety and protection of public utility facilities against pests

The conference attracted a lot of interest. The number of seats in the conference room often turned out to be insufficient!
A large majority of participants, both exhibitors and visitors, considered the event to be very successful and very useful.
